Ben Affleck, Matt Damon’s Production Company Adopting Inclusion Riders

Best Actress Winner Frances McDormand appears to have lit a fire underneath Hollywood with the closing remarks of her acceptance speech, as production partners and friends Ben Affleck and Matt Damon have announced that they too will be adopting inclusion riders in all forthcoming projects.

Their production company, Pearl Street Films, put out a statement on Twitter that they would be supporting the initiative – which requires that at least 50% of a project’s cast and crew be diverse – after Michael B. Jordan’s similar announcement last week.

The announcement marks the first of the major production companies to commit to the concept, with many more now expected to follow suit in the coming months.

Despite confusion amid whether or not Ben Affleck will return as the caped crusader any time soon, Pearl Street are still listed as one of the production companies for Matt Reeves’ The Batman, which will mean that the DCEU flick will be the first superhero film to utilise an inclusion rider.
