An astonishing thirty years old this year, the enduring Child’s Play franchise is headed to television – in the form of a continuation for killer doll Chucky’s exploits.
Filmmaker Don Mancini and producer David Kirschner are reportedly hard at work not he development of the series, said to take the form of eight hour-long episodes. Perhaps most exciting of all, however, is the involvement of series mainstay Brad Dourif – who will return for the series to voice the character of Chucky.
The Child’s Play series has, to date, consisted of seven feature films – the most recent being last year’s Cult of Chucky – with the presently untitled series promising a “dark and disturbing” continuation of events “deliberately set up at end of the last movie”.
