Die Hard 6 Nabs Conjuring Writers To Spruce Up Script

The Hayes brothers, Chad and Carey (writers of The Conjuring and its sequel) have been hired to rewrite and punch up the script for 20th Century Fox’s forthcoming Die Hard sequel.

The movie is purportedly set to be a hybrid prequel and sixth entry in the franchise with Bruce Willis’ John McClane bookending the film, and a younger actor portraying the cop hero in a 70s New York origin story of sorts. In meetings, the film is being referred to as Die Hard: Year One, in reference to the similarly-titled classic Batman graphic novel by Frank Miller and David Mazzucchelli.

Chad and Carey Hayes have also penned House of Wax, The Reaping, and Whiteout, and are a well-sought commodity in Hollywood, with over 20 projects currently on the cards.

The presently untitled Die Hard sequel is also currently lacking a release date. The last film in the franchise, A Good Day to Die Hard, was released in 2013, and has a 14% on Rotten Tomatoes.
